Jim Jackson is one of the region’s leading trial lawyers. In practice for 17 years, Jim has dedicated his career to fighting for the rights of Arkansans. Growing up in a small town outside of Hope, Ark., Jim understands the hardships an injury or wrongful death can create for a family.
 
Through his years of practice, Jim has recovered multiple verdicts and settlements, including his first million-dollar case in 1995, just two years out of law school. One of his largest verdicts was more than $3 million in a case involving the crash of American Airlines Flight 1420. Because of his trial success, Jim was named a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a prestigious group of elite trial lawyers who have won million- or multi-million dollar results for their clients.
 
After graduating from Hope High School, Jim attended Hendrix College in Conway, Ark., where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history. After determining his passion for law, he went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1993. While in law school, he was a member of Phi Delta Phi and president of the Student Bar Association.
 
Jim was admitted to the bar in 1993 and is licensed to practice law in Arkansas, where he has become one of the premier personal injury and products liability lawyers in the region. He was recently named a Mid-South Super Lawyer for the fourth consecutive year by Law & Politics magazine, a distinction awarded to only 5 percent of attorneys in Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee. He has also been recognized as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer by the American Trial Lawyers Association of Washington, D.C.
 
Jim was appointed by Gov. Mike Beebe to serve as a special justice for the Arkansas State Supreme Court – one of the highest honors of an attorney. He has also served on the Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee for four years – a special appointment made by the Arkansas State Supreme Court. He is an active member of many associations in the central Arkansas area, including the Arkansas Bar Association, where he serves on both the Civil Procedure Committee and Tort Law Committee. Jim also belongs to the Pulaski County Bar Association, American Bar Association, American Inns of Court and the American Trial Lawyers Association, where he served on the Board of Governors and was elected President of the Young Lawyers Division in 2000.
 
Along with running a highly successful law practice, Jim has spent a great deal of time training others. He has been recognized by his peers in the legal community for his exemplary trial skills and breadth of knowledge. Jim is frequently called upon to speak to other attorneys on issues such as complex litigation, using demonstrative exhibits effectively, garage policies and stacking.
 
Jim was invited by the American Trial Lawyers Association to speak at the organization’s annual convention about his successful representation of families who were injured due to a crucial design flaw of Ford 15-passenger vans. He has taught classes for the National Business Institute, including "Adjusting the Automobile Injury Claim" and  "Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist Law in Arkansas.” He has also taught classes for his fellow lawyers, including “Bridging the Cap - Your First Trial" for the Arkansas Bar and "Arkansas Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist Law" for the Texarkana Young Lawyers Association.
 
Jim and his wife, attorney Lisa Ferrell, live in Little Rock with their three young children: Adam, Luke and Olivia.
